Afternoon all,
After spending all day looking for sites around the Medoc area I'm finally seeking some help for any recommendations.
Was mainly looking around the Hourtin area and the lake near by as we will be taking our kayak so would like to spead some time on the lake plus near to the beach.
Mainly tend to use smaller sites as only two adults and not particularly worried about all singing, dancing sites but would not discount any sites as many I've looked at so far seem to be on the big size so that may be the way to go.
Thank you in anticipation for your help, now back to the screen to see if that perfect site is awaiting me

It’s not a site I know personally, but Camping l’Acadia at Hourtin might be a possibility. It fits your wish list for a small site in that area, and reviews (mostly in French) on various websites are good.. But it’s not lake side and is about a kilometre from the east site of the lake. Is that to far from the water for your kayak?
Le Tedey now know as 'Slow Village ' or something.
It really has everything you need for sport, culture, nature...check out the reviews.
Le Tedey is in the forest au bord du lac Lacanau. 4k from Lacanau Ocean and the fabulous coastline.
We personally enjoy the lake for kayak and SUP, rather than the surfers paradise of the ocean.
Also the cycling is unbeatable despite being flat.
The Medoc is not far away.

Thanks BobCat10 for the recommendation, just looked at their website, definitely seems to tick all the boxes, strong contender for next year, just need to to wait until they open bookings so can price it up
We stayed at Camping Les Ourmes at Hourtin Port this summer, pleasant site with shady pitches some under trees, a good pool, bread/pastries from the bar out of high season and a snack bar that was open out of high season. The facilities were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. We paid the ACSI rate of €16 per night which was very reasonable.
It was a 5-10 minute walk to the lake, certainly an easy 5 minute cycle ride.
Thanks MrWez for you recommendation, had a look at the link you posted, looks just like the site we're after.
Found out you can also book it through the CAMC so might look into that as well ,thanks

We have returned time and again to Le Tedey purely for water sport and off road easy cycling.
Its direct proximity to the lake is the major factor, plus its lack of commercial 'tat'....pool waterslides etc. It is a nature lovers eden. The sort who appreciate the grear outdoors love this place.
Lacanau Ocean is OK to dip into for a buzz but not our cup of tea.
We NEVER stay in resorts and dislike that Butlins vibe where people are on top of each other and feel the need to be entertained.
Tranquility and peace heal me, so Le Tedey ticks those boxes.
We're looking for pastures new as we have been to Limone for the last 5years.
I fancy the Ardeche or the Dolomites.
Mountains and Lakes in the summer are amazing. Somewhere to run, SUP and indulge in the local culture.
I would never choose the coast as I am not fond of the sea....weird some say but that's how I roll.

You're definitely selling me Le Tedey, ( slow village)BobCat10. Have tried looking at their website but we're away at the moment and the site we're on has no wi fi and 4G is very weak, guessing their website has lots of graphic content hence not loading very well, will definitely look when I get back home after the weekend, thanks again
