Can anyone offer any suggestions as to a site for an overnight stopover near the A7 Autoroute heading to South of France.
We have booked to go to Esteral Caravanning Agay, St Raphael next year. We will be stopping at Lac de La Liez at Peigney for a few days en route.
However it is about 430 miles between the two and looking for an overnight stop approximately half way between the two?
We will be taking the A7 to the South and could do with a stop somewhere between Lyon and Avignon to break the journey. I have found a couple in the Ardeche area , but the sites are about 15-20 miles off they motorway on normal cross country roads, which I would prefer not to do, as it will add a lot of unnecessary time and mileage.
I did find a site much closer to the A7, (Le Soleil Fruité) Near Drôme, but have read they do not take Twin Axle caravans.
Any help or suggestions would be really helpful?
Thanks.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Thanks for the Tournon and Les Lucs suggestions.
I have checked with them and neither take twin axle caravans. Shame as Les Lucs would have been ideal for a break in mileage.
I will try the site at Orange and see if they take twin axles , although would be a heavy day at 307 miles from Peigney. I have done 350 miles in a day towing the van , but prefer around 250-300 a day which is comfortable.
Thanks
I myself would probably stop off at the respectable municipal site at Saint Vallier - it’s half way on your 430 mile journey - but as it’s a municipal site it too might be picky about twin axle vans. I am afraid I don’t know the answer on that point.

You can use 'Eurocampings.co.uk' (Main ACSI website) to search specifically for sites which accept Twin Axles. I have done just that and here's the result:
You use the 'Advanced Search' facility, which gives you a huge number of options you can select as 'must haves' when searching for a site. There look to be plenty of options in the areas you are looking for, if you zoom in on the map which comes up. Warning - the map loads rather slowly so give it time!
Thanks ValA
I will have a look this weekend. I have been towing twin axles for nearly 30 years in France and other parts in Europe and never had any problems getting an overnight stopover sorted .
To be fair I have normally booked them through one of the clubs on the lather sites that don’t have a problem with twin axles .just seems this particular area there are nit many large sites . They seem to be further away
15-20 miles off the A7 which fir am overnight stop is pointless.

If you click the red link in my post it will take you to the map of the sites in the region you're interested in - and there seem to be plenty of options. Good luck with your search.
