Don't worry about it. If it's on the BBC it will be repeated the week you get back anyway!!

BBC 1 has changed to HD now on a single channel whereas before it was BBC HD plus a host of local BBC 1's. Not sure if that affects it.

On Freesat HD was 106 and local was 101.

Red Button is now 980 plus a host of others for local.

BBC are stopping transmitting in SD region by region, if you have an SD only box you will lose your local channels.

Hi debcon, I might be a bit late in coming into this conversation but were/are you able to get any of the other TV channels? We're just wondering if it's worth taking the sat dish with us this year when going through France to Spain and back.
Cheers
Keith

We are in Calpe on a 1.1 dish you can get BBC 1 and 2 but it is very marginal, cloud, atmospherics, even night time and reception gets very hit and miss, well more miss than hit. ITV, Channel 4 and 5 family are much better. The 1.4 dish works better, but we have a campsite restriction on dish size when you rent a dish.
The problem is caused by the BBC going HD only.

Thanks for your reply, so, if I am using a HD sat TV and a 1.1m dish, I might get lucky?
Cheers
Keith

If you use a Freesat box it will delete all BBC SD channels forcing you to watch HD channels if you can. BBC still broadcast SD channels at the moment, you need to use an FTA box. Comag, Silvercrest, etc. Amazon flog Chinese ones for 25 quid, we have one, works well apart from the EPG is garbage.
