Also, we arrive in France at 4.30pm (their time). Don't think I'll make site in Chartres before closing time, so apart from Pont De L'Arche, any recommended sites near the D154 (Evraux, Dreux route) I've pencilled in Etangs De Marsalin, anyone been? Entrance looks tight for 7.5m caravan
Personally if I arrived in Dieppe at 4.30 pm. I would check inlo a camp site there, do some shopping, and then go into town for an evening meal at a fish restaurant by the harbour. I might even stay a second day - Dieppe is a good place.
First time back at Dieppe on Saturday for about forty years! We arrived intending to find somewhere to eat prior to our midnight sailing, and weren't disappointed by the choices available. There are lots of traditional French restaurants, those specialising in seafood, but also a Thai/Vietnamese place, and an Indian, both of which appeared popular at about 7.30 pm on a Saturday. We chose traditional and weren't disappointed.
We ate and drank very well, and slept OK on the reclining seats as no cabins were available.
The Dieppe crossing is subsidised by the tourist office, with a 20% discount for the over 60s - so if you can do repay them by eating out or otherwise supporting the local economon.
