Meat and dairy are not allowed. We went last year on Eurotunnel, no checks were made other than passport and that gas was turned off.
Not that they might check.

Don't worry about it. Just take what you want. I've been turned over to have some jobsworth tell me I can't take knives in my caravan - how am I supposed to prepare food????? Another time I was stopped, she just wanted to have a good look at my motorhome and tell me "I must get one of these" Border control don't know what they're doing. Just nod and be polite or they'll probably give you grief. I've never had my fridge checked.
We always had our caravan checked (and I was always searched, and at airports). They never lifted the fixed bed, where we could have hidden 6 illegals.

UK border control personnel aren't responsible for checking what foodstuff you are taking into the EU that is the job of the authorities at the EU entry port.

We normally do 3 trips a year in our MH and a couple in the car, the border staff have never looked for anything other than illegal stowaways. Don`t worry about it.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
