Stuart, I'm really sorry to hear that, but please carry on posting; you have a wealth of experience to share, and besides, we'd all miss your well written posts.

I can't remember how long ago it is now, but remember we met on a municipal site somewhere on the Loire, near Chaumont it was. And then the good old days of the Camping Cheques

those were the days, when we were all trying to get hold of any that were up for grabs, fond memories

One of the recent reviews I did of a site in the Green Venice, Magne, only had 1 previous review, yes, it was by you, in 2017.

I hope those medical matters will be sorted so that you'll be able to look into touring again using gites or chalets.

So, it's not goodbye, but à bientôt Stuart.

We too have made good use of Stuart’s campsite suggestions and reviews, for which we are very grateful. Hope he does manage to get to the wine fairs and keeps adding his tuppenceworth on here.

Wondered why the french press had been reporting redundancies in the gendarmerie.

Shouldn't be too hard for Stuart to visit Lidl wine fairs - think there's about 4 in the Calais vicinity so a quick visit via the tunnel should hopefully be possible - the price of the Cote du Rhone "Vielle Vignes" was still the same price as 5 years ago this spring.

We used to pop over to north France for a long weekend around Jan - Feb time to restock on wine. Stayed a few times in an apartment on a farm not too far from Boulogne - Auberge du Blaisel - about 3 comfy apartments - one on the ground floor. Restaurant on site doing "hearty" farmhouse cooking - breakfast was as if to prepare you for a 12 hour shift on the farm, evening meals was as if you'd done a 12 hour shift. Seemed very popular with locals and groups.

All the very best Stuart - still hope to see a golden oriole myself!
