Whether or not they actually have the infrastructure available to actually carry out such checks is of course another matter.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Etias.com is not an official website so just be a little careful.
Also be aware that you must be able to prove ( if asked ) when entering the EU that you have up to , depending on country, £85 per person per day for the duration of your stay ( so a family of 4 thats £340 per day or £4760 for a two week holiday ) in your bank account .
Interesting, when one can have an entire holiday paying by credit card. Not advocating that, but not everyone has nearly £5K instantly available. And £85 pppd seems generous, especially if you were on an all-inclusive fly & flop beach holiday. But rules is rules! Thanks for alerting us.
Apparently the Spanish ( who do require £85 per person per day ) have been enforcing it more and more regularly.
Insanity when you consider how many Brits holiday in Spain and their islands.
Seems the zoning of the poor is well and truly on course !
It is not in effect yet, delayed again until sometime in 2024.

Bit of a grey area regarding UK nationals resident in Ireland. Irish don't need ETIAS. UK citizens living under the auspices of the Withdrawal agreement also don't need ETIAS. I can prove residency in Ireland but there is no actual residency card for UK citizens.
Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and cough up the money and time for that Irish passport.

Go for it. My friend had a Polish father, Scottish mother. She got a Polish passport at Brexit - had learned Polish as she visits elderly relatives over there.
Last I heard, it was being postponed until Autumn 2024 due to the French request to delay it until after the Paris Olympics, so hopefully won't affect anybody's summer 2024 holiday

I would have done it years ago but the cost is over a grand. I'm also eligible for a Lithuanian passport through marriage but would have to go back there to live. It would be cheaper though.
Both daughter's have Lithuanian and British passports.

I hold a HK SAR passport, however I am done with HK, don't even want to visit anymore.
I had a gap of 22 years between visits and it changed beyond recognition.
