Hi,
After a complete mess up from DFDS (them having a system issue and loosing cancelling our cabin for the overnight journey), we're forced into looking at other alternatives to sleep.
We have a relatively large tent, which is to much to put up just for one night (we have thought about a camp site and purchasing a smaller tent(s) for a night stop).

However, if there is any one that knows of a B&B with secure parking from Dieppe to Sarlat (Dordogne) we'd be most grateful.

Decide where on your 400 mile journey you want to stop then use Booking.com to tell you what hotels and other accommodation there are in that area. It will give you prices, review scores and whether there is parking Many people will choose one of the cheap and cheerful chain hotels which cluster around motorway junctions, but an independent place is often much more pleasant for an overnight stay.

Hi,
We have stayed in several French motels with gated parking when towing our folding camper. They’re usually just off the motorway. We have used Ace hotels, b&b chain & ibis & have been comfortable using all of them

We've used b&b chain many times and the ones we used all had gated parking. I still used a hitch lock as always. If you chose a hotel, then look it up on Google maps streetview, then you can see what the car park is like.

What time do you arrive in Dieppe? If you're looking anywhere along the route then it would be useful to have some sort of timescale to work to. We don't have a cabin, but managed fine in reclining seats, and got all the way down to our house in the Aude by 7.00 pm the same day, having two big supermarket shopping stops on the way, (two because we found the first one too expensive so only bought essentials) so if you're on an overnight sailing you may be surprised at just how far you can get with a really early start.

Otherwise most Premiere Classe, Ibis (even Ibis Budget), B&B hotels have a fenced compound and we've always found them safe. Just choose one outside a smaller town rather than a big city and you should be fine.

We've used a nice Premiere Classe at Barjouville on the outskirts of Chartes, which has a nearby restaurant, and which always has plenty of workmen with vans (I presume full of tools) staying overnight, and they obviously find it safe enough.
