Has anyone used the road 9, 19 and 6 between Brig and Innertkirschen, towing a caravan? We're experienced caravanners with good outfit but would like to hear any experience of this particular route, please. Heading towards there in September.

Have just realised that this is the Grimsel Pass, so will probably find an alternative route, having done it solo a couple of times in rain and mist!

We did that route in reverse a few years ago in early June when there were snow banks either side of the road. You are going over the Grimsel Pass which is a big modern road but in the direction you are going it is quite a climb to get out of the Rhône valley to the top of the pass. There are six big hairpin bends as you go up so look up ahead for anyone coming down who might baulk you on the tight part of the corner. There will be You tube videos on line for sure if you search Grimsel Pass.

There is no obvious northbound alternative from the upper Rhône valley unless your caravan will fit the size limits for the car carrying shuttle train through the Lotschberg tunnel.
