Reading many conflicting things about what you can take into the Irish republic, so my list is , can I take in tinned food
Can I take in milk .. I’ll need a cuppa after the 3 hour dive off the ferry and won’t get to campsite til after 9pm !

Look on the Internet. Basically no meat or dairy products are allowed. I'm convinced it is just to force you to spend your money in the EU.

I don't know what the actual legal restrictions are but I have been to RoI in my Bongo campervan several times and I have never even seen an Irish customs officer at the ferry port let alone had one ask to look in the van. Considering the completely open border between Northern Ireland and the Republic, It appears that the Irish customs consider inspections of private vehicles at ferry ports to be rather moot unless they have specific intelligence to suggest otherwise.

If you take milk remember you can't leave your fridge on as gas needs to turned off on ferry. Suggest an unopened carton of long life maybe.

You can get milk in any petrol station so you can get a pint when you leave the port.
It is extremely rare for customs to check your vehicle.
