Evening/Morning all.

Well I've obviously been a good boy this year as a shiny new SUP has just arrived on my doorstep

In september we are heading to France for 3 weeks in out motorhome.

We are aiming for the med coast, followed by some time in the "cremant bourgogne" area (see my other thread for that kind recommendation).

It would be great if whilst abroad I could get to use my new toy, so I am after some recommendations for sites (preferably ACSI). (I have done a lot of research but there is nothing better than a sound lead from someone who has been)

Thanks' you all for taking the time to read this

XVI yes?

As well is two words!

In my experience every lake in France has a campsite on the bank - there’s a huge choice, although by September some will be closing down

Plenty leading out of the Gorges du Verdon ...
The Marais Poitevin (Green Venice) is also a brilliant area for SUP's
Many slow flowing flat rivers are also great e.g. Charente/Vienne etc.
Camping Le Tedey
Camping Les Cantarelles on Lake Villefranche de Panat.
The river on site at Camping du Chateaux at the lovely Bastide town of Eymet
Also ... consider the many canals throughout France ... the Midid Canal in the south has many campsites along its length, plus great places to visit eg Carcassone et al.

The boats using the Canal du Midi all discharge their sewage into the canal so maybe not the best choice. I had no idea about this until my sister and friends rented a fairly lux boat this year and apparently it is just what you do with your sewage on the canal. Horrifying.

Not sure what route you're planning to take, but if its down the west side of France then I can recommend Campeole Navarosse near Biscarosse (tho I think it has a new name/owners this year)
https://www.eurocampings.co.uk/france/aquitaine/landes/biscarrosse/camping-campeole-navarrosse-111516/

Its one of our favourite campsites - very relaxed, with its own beach on the lake ideal for launching SUP or kayaks because its so shallow. In fact if all goes to plan we'll be there next weekend....fingers crossed we can get one of the beachside pitches

Morning we have stayed at the campsite below, it has it's own small lake and is not far from Lac de Castillon (30mins) which would be great for it. The campsite is small and well run, definitely not an all singing dancing site but that was the appeal. Dont believe it is ACSI but it is not expensive either.
