Looking for recommendations for French Sites where you can pitch close to a decent fishing lake. We are booked into forest view in September but looking at other options for next year. Any area considered, don’t mind a long drive to a good site. Tia

The only one I know, as I am not into fishing , is Twin lakes Campsite in the Charente Maritime department
A veryBritish site with British owners who have put in a lot of work since taking it over making it a very casual, friendly place, and utterly different from the formality of UK Club sites. The fishing is mostly for carp which they say are up to 30 lbs. We were just there overnight to visit friends nearby so I can’t comment on the fishing side of things.

You could think about this site Camping Le Vivier Aux Carpes, at Seraucourt-Le-Grand. It's not that far into France and they appear to have pitches alongside the fishing lakes. I am sure there are lots of reviews of the site on here.

Over the years have seen decent size perch, pike caught in the river Indre at Azay le Rideau - Camping le Sabot. Not a lake but river isn't very fast moving.

Depends where you sail from/to David.   Seraucourt-Le -Grand would be nearly The Pyrenees for us who travel to Roscoff. 😉👍
