We are travelling to France twice next year and wish to go Portsmouth Caen route. One trip will be in June and one in August. Overnight crossings outbound and daytime inbound both with cabins. We don’t have membership yet but wonder if it’s worth doing and how much discount % wise we would get for those journeys! Does anyone already have membership and know that can advise please? Thank you.

I don’t think it will be worthwhile joining Club Voyage for those particular crossings, but if you googleClub Voyage terms and conditions you can add up what you would gain by paying the initial £120 fee. But if you were to pass on the friends and family code to six or eight people you would earn £10 a time from the ferry company and that might put things in a different light.
It's going to depend on exactly when you travel as the discounts for new members are very variable. You'll get more money off if you go midweek for the earlier crossing but as far as I can see only 5% in August.
You'll get 12.50 euros each to spend in bars/the restaurants on your outward crossing and 20% off meals on the return. You also get half price wifi which is worth it for the return IMHO.
Your renewal will be £60, so that's a factor going forwards. If you don't think that you're going to go to France at least once/year you may be better off getting a code from a member who joined under the old terms which will give you 10% off each crossing though you won't get the other benefits and the discount on cabins.
If going to France I normally use Newhaven Dieppe usualy cheaper quicker less hassle all round and extra 10 percent off for OAP (need to phone to get it)

Thank you for these helpful replies. I have now found the terms and conditions and will weigh it up. I had searched their page and not found anything to really help, guess I missed that. As far as I know we would only have one other family group travelling next year and they would be in August, so it looks like we wouldn't be able to offer them a discount code. Our June crossing would be midweek, the July/August one would be friday night crossing, although may be able to do a Thursday one. Certainly food for thought there. Thank you once again.
