Probably not, BUT the initiative behind the scheme allows ANY area to declare a temporary zone if pollution levels are deemed too high, so it's not just the permanent zones in the larger cities such as Paris, Rouen etc. that you may find you need one! TBH, away from larger towns it's unlikely, but Calais itself is a potential.
For under £5 posted to UK, and lasting indefinitely, it's just so easy (application website has an English language version) to get one and have no worries. I got one a few years back, even though no intentions of venturing into a zone, just so it was covered if we did, or a pop-up temp zone affected us. Of course, your vehicle has to meet the restrictions to be granted one!
More and more permanent zones are being created, so even if not necessary this visit, it may be necessary in the future!
Loads of info on official website (ONLY apply for one via official Gov website to avoid extra/unnecessary charges!): https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F33371?lang=en

Calais won't be added in the foreseeable - only cities / agglomerations over 150k population will be added in 2025.
Crit Air regs are being loosend rather than tightened.

Live in the Dordogne - only Crit Air stickers you see are on vehicles with Paris reg plates.
Also if I'm correct in my thinking then post Brexit there is no agreement for motoring fines in France to be applicable in the UK and vice versa - unless stopped by French police for speeding etc in which case they are "on the spot" - the two countries no longer have access to each others vehicle databases like they did when the UK was in the EU.
Thanks for the update longcol, rather contradicts the last update I saw where the scheme was expanding as per original plan, and places like Rouen were being included from 2024/25! Not overly concerned, got a Critair 1 sticker, but quite regular visitor to Rouen, so try and keep aware of latest news.
As to no UK-France agreement for transfer of fines, I absolutely stand to be corrected, but is there not the potential for outstanding fines to be held against you, and applied next time you visit France, presumably with usual penalties added for non-payment in the first place! Seem to recall a discussion (on other types of motoring fines) whereby you may leave the country unscathed, but get your bum severely savaged if you ever return! With so many NPRS around, seems unlikely you would go unnoticed for long!

I got mine for the French trip last year even thought I might not need it, more for a peace of mine.
Then I did a stupid thing and destroyed it thinking it needed renewing every year, DOH!!!
Good job it does not cost much to replace, more the shame of doing something stupid - should have check in UKCS first, DOH!!!
DK
I renewed mine just before xmas for my new van. As soon as it arrived, I gently and lovingly cut it to fit perfectly in ye olde tax disc holder (So it's not stuck directly on the windscreen... then stood back to admire my precision cutting skills... then immediately noticed I'd mistakenly put 23 in the reg, where it should have been a 73!
Didn't want to risk it (Assuming the reg is on some form of database as well as the printed window sticker (No idea?), but just wasn't worth the risk for such a low price, so I ordered again, with the correct reg.
So a DOH for me too!
Just to show they did not check the application details entered against the V5!!!
Hope you and Muckerette are well BTW.

Yeah, thought the same, but still slapped myself for wasting best part of a fiver!
I'm not gonna say "All good here, thanks", as it's not... lost Muckerette's dad a couple of weeks ago (funeral next week), but it was no great surprise. Little more than "old age", so thankfully no terrible pain-laden illness that you hear so much about! And he had a damn good innings (92.8yo!), much of it outdoors, listening to bird song, smelling the flowers... and chuffing on his pipe!
Now officially nesh, we didn't camp at New Year, and pre-planned DIY put paid to any tent-associated shenanigans at Easter, so we're yet to get away in 2024! Roll on 1st June... La Shuttle beckons!
Other than that, we're still on top form!
I see you're still getting out there. Hope you're keeping well.
Love from the pair of us. Hopefully bump into you on our travels.
*Apologies for going off-topic.
Love to all.
