Good day one and all.

Probably left it a bit late but I will try anyway.

Having dificulties applying for an emmissions sticker on the French gov website.

Not able to put C02 figure, not on reg doc and there is no drop down list for fuel type.

Is it just me?

...when I applied for one for my car I had to go searching on the manufacturers website for the specs for the make and model as it wasn't on the V5 either. I then entered that in my application on the official French Government website and it accepted my application.

I got an e-mail acknowledging my application and then, the following day (or maybe the day after that), I got another e-mail which confirmed the application was in process and the Crit'Air classification for my car. This latter e-mail states it can be used as proof of your vehicle classification if challenged in-lieu of the sticker.

The sticker came through in about 10 days, not bad service for less than €5.

You only need one for driving onto a few large cities. Are you going to do that?

I did not have this issue as the CO2 figure is on my V5.

If it happened to me, I too would Google the marque and model of my van in the hope to find it via the manufacturer's website or some other reliable source like Honest John.

On this, the official, website the fuel type dropdown box is “ carburant” just above the car serial number box. If you tell us what model of motor, we can help find the CO2 level for you.
It’s a minor hassle, but getting a sticker, or just the email, saves worrying if you should take a wrong turn, or hit a diversion.

UPDATE

Thanks for all the advice and assistance.

Went online again, early morning, and sailed through with no Co2 entered. They have a scanned copy of the V5, which has blank spaces.

I figured for the sake of £4.50 for the life of the vehicle, it saves any big fines for a mistake in choosing a road. Apparently they do pop-ups randomly as deemed useful to them.

Just have to hope it arrives in time.

I know this keeps being said but the Critair sticker is not just needed in large cities. At times of high pollution whole regions can implement the policy so for the sake of £4.50 just get one. Incidentally, I often look for them on French cars when I am there and I can`t remember seeing one yet.

Plenty of French cars do have them. If you are driving from Dieppe & around Rouen ring you enter an emission zone according to the signs I saw. Crit air stickers are only available online I think. You can’t buy them over counter as you can the German emissions sticker.

Has anyone applied / ordered a crit air sticker for a company car?
I dont have possesion of the V5 but I do take the car abroad and have a VE103 which gives me permission to take the car overseas. It has all the information on it that a V5 would have. Can this be used instead? I dont usually apply for a crit-air but thought I might this time - I will be travelling to France and Spain and may possibly enter one or more of the crit air zones.
Any ideas??

We got back less than a week ago after a month away, I saw more and more French vehicles with the stickers from lots of different departments.

IIRC Rennes, Nantes and Bordeaux are either introducing the requirement or have done so and all three are on a major north/south tourist route, two of these also have municipal campsites in the confines of their respective péripheriques/rocades.

We set off a month before not really knowing where we were going to end up, just a rough idea of where we wanted to go, I know I'd rather pay €5 for the life of the vehicle rather than €135 for being caught without it on just one occasion.

We had one for our last Hyundai and got one for our current hybrid one.
Easy and quick, as previous posters have said less than £5 is a no brainer.Beats a fine.

A lot of French cars have them, but you will not see them on small cars in the country, I have one on mycamper and on my insignia but not on my local runabout which i use with the camper.

You ony need to fill in the required sections. I did one a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure that I left the co bit blank.

It is not specifically for the life of the vehicle, more the life of the windscreen. If you have to unfortunately have your windscreen replaced then you will have to buy another Critair cert

I have a Full Electric (Company) Car, and I was pleasantly Suprised that by Having a Crit Air Sticker allowed me to have Free Parking in Le Harve.

Something I will look out for in future in other places, I only discovered it by chance to see if I could feed the meter the night before, to save me getting up early in the morning.

Le Harve Free Parking (French)

Ish...   ...you get an email confirming the issue of the sticker which can be used as proof of purchase and in-lieu of the sticker. If you've got a copy of that it's potentially for the life of the vehicle...
