Folk with school age kids or working in places that shut down for a couple of weeks in summer might not have a lot of choice.

I had this discussion with my colleague and clients earlier today, as we had a meeting arranged for early July 2025, and I wanted to gauge the likelihood of key personnel attending the meeting etc...
Those who were present all agreed that for people who do not need to take holidays during the summer school holidays from late July to early September, they are most likely to go on holiday in June and early July to avoid the crowds and hefty prices.
So we moved the meeting to the last week of June instead.
I have done my July trip this year already, and the August trip will be at an adult-only site.
Being childless by choice, I avoided camping during the summer school holidays when I was a tenter.
After I got my van, I was determined to go camping once a month from Easter to October, including August, to make the most of the van.
So I decided to go to an adult-only site in August 2021 and it was a revelation! I wish I had tried adult-only sites sooner!
Anyway, I shall enjoy less traffic on the roads soon!

We never go anywhere during school holidays and bank holidays because of the ridiculous prices and crowds. Even when I was working I usually opted to work bank holidays and have a day off of my choosing.
