I am going to Spain in January 2025. My passport was issued early in March 2015 instead of July 2015, and expires in july 2025. Can anyone tell me where I can find out if I need to renew it before I go. I’ve heard that if it has been issued early10 years before I travel then I won’t be allowed to enter even though it expires 4 months after I return.

You'll need to renew it. You need three months left on your passport after your planned return date and they won't allow the carried forward months

If you do it online the new one arrives quite quickly. You need a new photo. My wife took one of me on her phone, it was fine. The online system gives information on what is required on photos.
