we hope to be heading to vallon pont d arc in a couple of weeks, catching an early train but want to be only a couple of hours away from vallon to give us time to set up camp possibly macon area, any recemmendations please

Building works going on right at the entrance to Macon Municipal.
Nice early start from them.

It ain't a couple of hours from Vallon, certainly not towing.

For the record, we stopped at lac de loisirs, and could easily have stayed longer but were booked in elsewhere
