Has anyone out there have any information regarding motorhome stopovers in France as advertised by Camping Conections please?

hi,

just got back from france, dont use the english sites unless you want to pay big bucks.

use the local places, 3rd of the cost most times. they are also on the edge of towns, so you have easy access to the local area. english sites most of the time are out in the sticks, no local access.

good think is that they speak english, but it costs you, like i said 3X the local rate.

best to get into the local sites before 5pm and a lot of the times you have to wait, ask someone to let you in with the "key" and pay when the office is open. its not a problem doing that. i thought it might be but its done all the time. just go to the office in the morning and pay.

Thankyou floppy,

Hope that you enjoyed your time in France. We will be going in Sept. and looking for sites open till 1st week in November. Will be travelling from Toulouse - Calais and have been told that most sites have closed by that time.

The Caravan Club 'Caravan Europe' book (not just for members) is very helpful, with opening dates, phone numbers and helpful comments.  The directions to the sites is also very useful.  Sites open all year are marked on the maps in red and so easy to spot.  Vol 1 covers France, Spain and Portugal, vol 2 is for the rest.

Hope that helps.
