Hi

We are thinking of revisiting the French Alps for the first time in quite a few years. We've picked on Bourg d'Oisans as our base, there seem to be quite a few sites, can anyone recommend one of them? We prefer quiet sites, so no discos or kareoke, and have a Hartford XL. Since we bought it we've discovered that it can be tricky finding pitches big enough to fit in the tent with all the guys extended and get the car next to it (which we need to do as we plug the light into the cigarette lighter socket at night).

Also, does anyone know of a motel near Boulogne which does family rooms (ie 4 people)? We are using Eurotunnel and arrive in the early evening.

thanks

Val

I found that Novotel did good rates for a family room, in one case cheaper than getting two rooms in a formule 1, especially at weekends in hotels in business/industrial areas. Also www.villages-hotel.com have some family rooms, though they don't have a place in Bouologne.

All the best,

John.

Val

We once stayed at Recontra de la Soleil which is just out of the town and was a nice site. From memory there was another across the road called Le Cascade. Interesting area, particularly if you are a Tour de France fan.
