Anyone been here before?

http://www.camping-penboch.fr/gb/index.html

We're going Jul/Aug, just wondered if anyone has any info (good or bad) to tell us.

Thanks

Well we just got back and can thoroughly recommend this site.  It was very clean and had good facilities.  I've written a review for it.  We stayed 2 weeks and were very happy.  The kids loved the pool and slides and the playpark.

Oooo we are going there next week!! Set off Friday night, Sat stopover and then 4 nights at camping penboch. We are then up to northern brittany for 8 nights.

Good to hear that someone has been and found the site is good!

Helann,

did you use hook-up whilst there? If yes, did you have to use an adapter? and did you encounter reverse polarity?

I think we are set up for the reverse thing but it would be good to know what to expect before we get there!

Cheers

Yes - we used an adapter, but there wasn't reverse polarity.

Hope you enjoy your stay there.  Did you read my review on here of the site?

Cannot find the review Helann. Have you only just submitted it? It can take a little while before its uploaded usually, especially at this time of year when reviews are being submitted a lot. I think Webby has to vet them all before they can be published.

Yes, just did the review yesterday - so I'll give you a bit of info about Penboch now.

Toilet/shower block was alwyas clean.  There are baby baths available.  Washing machine and dryer available. 4 euros for washer, 2 for dryer.

'French' evenings in the bar advertised around the site - for instance Crepe meal.

Pizza van comes on Tuesday night - really really nice pizzas.  But you need to order for a specific time, therefore go along at 5.30 and get your order in, otherwise if you leave it too late to order, then you will find that your pizza will not be ready til 10pm or something!  Also the large size says for 4 or 5 people - well perhaps small people, We ordered 3 large size for 2 adults and 2 kids! (No we're not huge!).

Simming pool doesn't have lifeguard, so need to watch your kids yourself.  Kids appear to be safe to wander around site on their own (mine are 10 and 8).  They made loads of friends of all nationalities in the playpark in the evening.

Oh - fresh bread, croissants etc at 8.30am - but if you leave it til say 9.30am they may be sold out.

Can't think of anything else at the mo - have a great time.

Hi Helann,

thanks for the info, sounds lovely and I cannot wait!!

What size/ type were the emplacements? Large, medium, hedged, shaded, open?

My 'kids' are now quite grown-up (in body more than mind  ) so not too many worries there other then whether we can survive a fortnight without them having a major row!!

The site description says close to the beach accessed from a footpath direct from site....how accurate is this and what was the beach like?

Will deffo be up early to get my croissants...we missed France last year and I am so looking forward to tasting proper 'french' ones again!

thanks once again!
