My tent, family and I are off to France (Auvergne) in a couple of weeks and i need to purchase a camping gaz 907 bottle. I have just been to my local stockist and he is quoting £40 for an empty one and £51 for a full one. This is more than the cooker cost!!! How much should i be looking to pay?
Am i best buying one in france? Are they cheaper and easier to come across over there? Please bear in mind I cannot leave anything to chance, i definetly need one.
Thanks

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Sounds a huge amount. Suggest you ring round camping and caravanning places and compare costs. Alternatively try your local recycling depot, they sometimes have empty ones for a few pounds.

Certainly. But don't go for that list alone. E.g the very small 'Epicerie' of Le Falgoux (Cantal) is not on the list, but I did exchange my gastank (901 and 904)there.
So there are even more stations where they have them.
But at least one can be certain of the addresses indicated in the directory.
And don't forget the tool-shops. They often have them too. If not they will thell you the nearest address where they do have them, usually a few minutes walking.
It's cheaper to buy a French gas bottle. A few years back I got a Twinny (6 kgs I think) with a free regulator. The bottle, gas and regulator came to about £10.
