Just back this morning from 2 and a bit weeks in France.
On the ferry out to calais (pride of dover) , they had painted some of the car deck area in that lovely blue and not left any warning signs out.somebody unknowingly stood in it when getting in the car to drive off the ferry then when stopped for a cuppa in calais walked blue paint all over the new caravan carpet.
the air was also blue by now.Carpet ruined , car mat ruined , covered in paint , ive took photos and will be claiming from P&O.
also be warned , if you have a free caravan crossing , dont arrive too early and expect to get on an earlier crossing , they wanted £157 to sail at 19.00 instead of 02.20 this morning.us along with many others were parked on the docks for 4 hours +. managed to get on the 0.20 in the end at no extra cost.

Thanks for that warning about P & O Bev and Jon,we are booked on the 02.30 along with a few friends in August and some are also booked on the midnight ferry,we are all booked in with the free caravan offer.
Yup, it's been hot news that they have been looking for the person who vandalised their new paint job, didn't you hear that there is a reward out for the culprit!!
Seriously, I would love to know how this turns out....
well , e-mailed P & O on monday and heard absolutely sod all from them so now ive done a letter and printed off pictures of the damage and sent it off to their HQ.
see what happens now ( if anything )

Big company .......... they'll just gloss over it.
Just got back ourselves after three weeks in the land of Jaques. We were warned by a mate that the ferries wern't forward loading but he was trying for the 4pm ferry when he was booked into the 00.15hrs(a bit cheeky really). The following day after shopping for England at Auchan and Merlin LeRoy next door,we wandered down to the Ferryport at Calais at 7.30pm. The Chief Fairy did a magnificent job as a femme fatale fluttering her eyelashes at the gallic booking clerk(on reflection, it wasn't so much acting as the real thing!!!) Anyway, he let us through for the delayed 8.40pm ferry and we were sailing shortly after 9pm. We were also booked on the 00.15hrs so the answer is,you takes your chance but if you dont get on, thats life.

paid up £120 for fitting of new caravan carpet. no hassles at all.
When Pand O scratched my motorbike they paid up no probs to. Honest guys I recon. With the free crossing for caravan you can usually get away with it if you go with in the time scale. We went a DAY EARLY in July (Last weekend of) and no probs and coming back we arrived at 9pm for a sailing booked for 0300 and they let us on. Must be that ultra fast Mitsubishi Jon
I think they don't mind if you go on a similarly priced crossing. What they don't like is people who book the cheapest time and have no intention of using it and try to take the p*ss!
