Welcome to UKCS. Where is the campsite in the Loire? The Loire Valley area is an excellent choice for a holiday, not too much driving and plenty to see and do

Hi Dazcat, we had a 1 night stopover at camping halitosis (sorry - we just couldn't help it!) and we loved it.  If we want to stay North anytime I would definitely go there again.  Really friendly, great pool overlooked by bar terrace, and good pitches.  Had a nice stroll into town for pizzas and shopping too. We had a site at Moutier en Retz booked so only stayed the one night there, but it was much nicer thatr the one I had booked!  In fact we only stayed two nights at that one, it was so awful, and we all felt we'd rather have stayed at Halitosis.

HI, this is another good website for the Loire Valley, www.lewebdu49.com

Also try the local papers and shop adds for vide-greniers(carboot sales!) and music festivals. These are usually held in small villages and are a great night out.

we went there , twice , on our trip last month , one night heading for Pong in the Vendee and 2 nights heading back to the ferry.

this is an excellent site , huge pitches , go site yourself then sort it with reception later , lovely bar and pool area and a great atmosphere with lots of different nationalities mixed together.

When we turned up at the end of our hols it was like meeting old friends , the owner rushed out of reception and in excellent English , "you return to us my friends" and shook my hand , recognised us straightaway.

decent supermarket within easy walking distance and they sell fuel as well and a 4 mile drive to mont st michel.

You will love it there , nice site run by very nice people.

enjoy.

Looks like we made the right choice. All we need now is info on the Loire campsite Le Moulin Fort near Francueil.
