My Passport is due to expire 2 days after we RETURN from France, however, I have just been informed (by a colleague of my Wifes) that you cannot travel abroad on passport that has less then 3 months, this seems a little odd to me, however I could understand if there was some sort of cut off period.

I ahve searched the relevant sites but cannot find any info, I shall phone them tomorrow, but wondered if anybody was aware of this rule.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

I know a lot of countries, such as America and places where you need a visa, have a rule like this, but not sure about France.

However, you can apply for a new passport in advance, ring the passport office and explain your situation, they should be able to send you a new one which includes the elapsed time left on your old one.

Some countries have an immigration requirement for a passport to remain valid for a minimum period (usually at least six months) beyond the date of entry to the country. Therefore, ensure your passport is in good condition and valid for at least 6 months at the date of your return. This is a requirement of the country concerned, not the UK Passport Service. Any questions should be addressed to their Consulate or Embassy.Hi highside

I dont know if this will help but I have read somewere it has to be valied for at least 3 months but I cant find the page I will add it if I can find it
