Hi there.  Any suggestions for a couple of nights stop-over near Calais which is open throughout the year?  We will stop at Le Bien Assisse in September, but unfortunately they are closed during the winter.

THREE MORE WEEKS TO GO, THEN THE LOIRE VALLEY AND PYRENEES HERE WE COME!

Er ..... there are some great sites for finding camp sites in France on the www ..... but unfortunately there's a 'robot' on this site now, which appears to zap any URLs or text which links to 'competitor' sites.

If you can't find what you want on here, can I suggest you try a Google search and start looking around?

we found a great little site near sangatte , the name of which escapes me totally.

if you follow the signs from the motorway to cap Blanc Nez / sangatte its on the left side less than a mile from the m/way.

just find a pitch when you arrive if the owner not there , think he only comes to the site after 6pm.very cheap , quiet , close to ferry / hypermarkets etc.

if i remember the name of the place i`ll let you know ,

theres another nearby at Hervelinghen , camping les vallees , nice site but double the price .

Many thanks for the replies - should you remember the name of the site near Sangatte we would be grateful.  Will have a drive around there in September and look for it anyway.

There are 2 sites listed at Sangatte, Du Fort Lapin  03 21 34 63 50 and Les Noires Mottes  03 21 82 04 75. Do either of these names ring a bell Bev + Jon?

The site La Vallee is only open April-Oct I think.

The municipal at Etaples has had a mention here before, and is open 15.2-15.12 if that helps. Otherwise a quick look in the book found 2 sites open all year, La Mer at Camiers, Le Beaucamp at Ambleteuse. Anyone know these?

Hi,

We are just back from 3 weeks in France & Spain.

On our first night off the boat we stopped on a Castells site which was very nice & only 20 minutes from the port. It is called Chateau du Gandspette & is near the village of Eperlecques.

Try Alan Rogers or: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5506

Gandspette is indeed very nice, but only open 'till September (not sure from their documentation what time in September!).

Thanks for all the ideas which are really helpful - hopefully we will venture across out of season next year.  We might even make our return stop at the lovely Club site in Canterbury before driving home to Lincolnshire.

Would you mind sending in a review of the site to let others know what it is like?
