This a request on behalf of a friend, who is camping in Germany for the first time this year. Does anyone have any general advice, or, even better, has anyone ever visited Camping Belchenblick in Staufen im Breisgau? In the Black Forest, apparently.

Thanks in advance

Lovely site set on the edge of a small town of Staufen (easy walk). It was many years ago that we stayed there but funnily enough were considering going back this year. Just be aware that the site is closed between 12.30pm and 3.00pm no in or out, but there a reasonable car park outside.

Hi

We went there a few years ago quite a nice site swimming pool is a little walk away, you will need bikes so you can go to the village square it is a beautiful part of Germany and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  I remember the pitches were quite small we went sight seeing and took a train to Switzland very clean trains transport is easy local train station is a short drive away if I remember rightly. Hope this helps.

There's a rather noisy railway adjacent to the site and as mentioned before the pitches are very small.  The sanitary block we used had some huge 'bathrooms' - bigger then ours at home, with everything you could imagine, and immaculately clean.  The drawback of the swimming pool was that everyone had to wear a hat - not something my teenage boys appreciated at the time!  However you can walk into town from the site - and Staufen is a typical small town in Germany - immaculately clean, manicured and quiet with a good pedestrianised area.
