Hi Brendaadie, we've just returned yesterday from roughly the same area and found a good way, we went down through the ring road at paris ( aaaargh ) but came back another way and had to stop over night, this is the route we took.......... ( reversed for u of course )

Zebrugge onto the  A17 then right onto the A27,  then onto the A1 

Continue till jct 10. take the N31 towards Compiegne, You will be heading for a wee place called vic sur aisne, and the berny riviere ( la croix du vieux pont ) about 4- 4.5 hours drive and a nice break point.

Next day go and head for the N2 towards paris, continue down till you come to the A104 ( maybe signed for Brou or Torcy ) follow this till Lognes, then head for pontault combault, still the A104, it then changes to the N104, follow it, all the way to the A10 then head right , this road changes to the A11, follow this to Le Mans. find a site using the site search ( we drove onto Saumur, 7 hrs maybe too long for you ) .

next day, back on the A11 towards Angers and onwards from there, but after the ring road its really up to yourselves which way to go, try www.mappy.com or www.viamichelin.co.uk good routes there.

Check a map to make sure u r happy with the directions, alternatively you could go via Rouen then Amiens !

we have a camper and take a more leisurely approach - ie avoid autoroutes unless we are really short of time.

If you take route above there is a good municipal site at Beaumont about 10 miles north of Le Mans

on the autoroute there is a nice aire at baie du  somme, altho all the usual warnings apply to overnighting on the autoroute.

our route from la rochelle to zeebrugge bypassed the Vendee coast on autoroute, into brittany and stayed at Le Croisic, not exactly on route but a nice spot, then up to Mont St Michel, Caen, Pont du Normande, [peage] Rouen and eventually to the Belgian border and Zeebrugge [by way of the Aire at Brugge]
