New to the site and to camping!! We have booked a few weekends away in the UK to get used to camping and then we are hoing to use Eurocamp to visit Germany or Switzerland at Easter next year.

Has anyone ever used Eurocamp before, if so can you give me any advice on using them - are they OK? They charge a nightly supplement on top of the cost of your pitch and I'm not sure what this is for. As we are going for 12 nights the supplements can add up to nearly £100 alone.

Any advice on camping abroad and on Eurocamp would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, do you really mean Eurocamp? As far as I am aware their business is like package holidays, you choose the sites and they provide all the equipment, tent or caravan and everything else that you might need except linen. The reason that most sites have a supplement is to cater for the more expensive sites. Their basic tariff is for the cheapest sites. If you intend camping with your own equipment you probably need to look at Eurocamp Independent which is a separate organisation, although owned by Eurocamp who I think are owned by Keycamp or one of the other big operators.

If you are camping with your own equipment you should have a look at www.campingcheque.co.uk or http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/ both of whom are very popular and not very expensive.

we use eurocamp and have for the last three years find them to be reasonable with the price

but the people who use there tents etc dont seem to complain

if you phone them and ask for regenal saver this is were you tell them what area you want what persifics you require and what dates you are looking for

we told them 15th aug for a couple of weeks 4* site with min 6ams power supply and plenty for the kids

we got 18 nights 15th aug to 2nd sept in vendee site pong for 435 pounds that included travel insurance breakdown cover etc

itc cheeper than picking your site usually around 100 - 150 savin if you was to phone them for next year i do beleve you save 20% for booking 10 months in advance
