You certainly live and learn!
Floydfan thanks for the info that British loo paper is not compatible with French toilet systems. you have pricked my conscious now, as it is I that has been clogging the works all these years.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
cant see what difference it makes, it should all pulp up succesfully in the bog.maybe the french stuff is made up of shorter fibres that disentegrates easier when water is added where our stuff is long fibre for added strength or has more size added for extra resistancy to water?
Actually, Suzanne, it isn't - well, it is, but some is better than others at breaking down.
My cousin started buying some cheapy stuff from Lidl and her drain kept blocking up when she had visitors because the bog roll wasn't breaking down properly.
Try using your Andrex on a rural site like ours in France, and see the response you get when the fosse septique blocks, and there's sh*te all over the place! It's messy, smelly and expensive to sort out. Anyone who lives in France will tell you the same, especially us poor buggers who have to clean up! The loo roll in France is specially made for ease of breakdown, because 90% of loos don't run into a mains drainage system. It's soft, strong, perfumed and cheap! It isn't very long though....
