Having lived in Denmark for a while i personally would go a little further and head for Norway or Sweden. Skandinavians are friendly and will make you very welcome although most costal areas are full of Germans in summer due to the fact that they have so little beach and that they have to pay to get on the little that they do have.

It is ultra expensive with a pint of beer costing above £4.00. Feel free to ask any other questions i will answer those that i can.

there are lots of really nice sites, lovely villages, great people. Small population means that most of the country is pretty quiet. Get a Scandanavian camping card, and google for the various camping organisations. Denmark is expensive, but not as bad as the rest of Scandanavia. Try being there for midsummer, they have a celebration - bonfires and fireworks. All good stuff. We spent some time at Hirtshals, campsite overlooking beach, short walk to town, sunsets to die for!
