Would anyone have stayed at this site nr. Vitrac and would you recommend it?

We stayed at La Garangeoire this year and it lived up to its billing. Thanks to all those who recommended it. We have four children to entertain but still dont want a site that is too commercial. Going to a large neon lit clubhouse in the evening being serenaded by Karioki singers is not me.

Any opinions on Soleil Plage would be most helpfull,

Hi Marcus, We have not stayed a that particular site but we were in Vitrac this summer, it's a great area for a holiday with plenty of top class sites from Soulliac to Sarlat, take a look at campingfrance.com ther are many sites there listed most with web-sites. Best of Luck

We haven't been to this site but we have booked it for next year. I  looked at quite alot of sites in the area and reached the conclusion that this site has enough going on to occupy out 7 and 9 year old boys without being too lively and is well placed for sightseeing. Several of the other sites I looked at either had discos, nightclubs etc. on them or looked too quiet with small pools and limited facilities.I hope we have made the right decision, I think it is always a bit of a gamble!

I did find the campsites own websites very helpful, it might be worth you looking at them.

Thanks for your replies. It certainly is a gamble trying to pick a good site thats not too big to be too commercial and not too small as to have nothing to keep the children occupied.

La Garangeoire will be the first site I will be returning to next year as it had all the facilities to keep the children happy but still retaining a smaller site relaxed atmosphere.I have booked Soleil Plage for the second and third weeks for the same reasons as yourself borojo. Fingers crossed !!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at Soleil Plage for 2 weeks last May - we love it but then it was very quiet and we were the only tent the second week.  We camped right next to the Dordogne (it was a bit more expensive) but worth it. The owners Goulas and Anne made us very welcome.  Should imagine it gets a bit more hectic in the season.  There are quite a few Eurocamp tents and mobile homes. 

If you're going to this area - don't miss the the Wednesday and Saturday market in Sarlat!
