Hi Billy
No tolls at all! I've allowed 20 days for the return trip, in case I have trouble. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
I've booked a cheap ferry with Norfolk Line on 17th November out at 23:59 to Dunkerque and back 5th December 10:30. (£63.00) This years multi-trip insurance is still current and I'll be able to have the CD player at whatever volume I damn well please.
I intend to drop in on some friends in Normandie for a couple of nights (I'm due to collect my wife at the ferry port in Barcelona on the 26th November) and then set off due South. The return trip will be basically in the direction of Dunkerque, unless the South of France is stunningly warm and we dally a bit. I love the Carmargue.
I can rough it on the way down and fully intend to, but my wife prefers the security of a camp site (though this may not always be possible).
Thanks for your tips, as you can probably tell I've not been out at this time of year since my Hippie days (over 35 years ago), so any advice is most welcome.
Dick
