Dover -  Calais & v.v

"Special offers for caravanners and motor caravanners available through The Caravan Club on all sailings with prices from £135 for an outfit + 2 passengers, rising to £185 in peak Summer"

Above is quote from Caravan Club Ferry page for P & O which isn't too bad I suppose but we were only £111 this year for Car/Caravan/2 passengers - quite an increase - 22% approx!   Anyone out there doing any better?  We'll be going in Sept and returning in Nov (I've seen the Seafrance/Norfolk Line entries elsewhere on this page)

About a week ago, Norfolk Line were offering night-time ferries for next June-July:- Motorhome and up to twelve passengers, return Dover-Dunkerque £38.00! Yeh I missed it too, couldn't decide dates in time and missed the offer. But still available is, same setup, return for £58.00.

Camping & Caravanning Club are no longer offering Norfolk Line bookings. I wonder why? They promised on the phone that Sea France would match Norfolk Lines' prices, but when I tried to book they couldn't.

I booked on-line and even joined Norfolk Lines' mailing list, at these prices they need supporting.

The Norfolk Line £19.00 each way has been around a while now and comes and goes so its worth holding out til it is back on offer. We may knock Speedferries here on UKCampsite but it is thanks to them and their consistantly low prices that we have this price war on our hands. Speedferries regularly off £19.00 each way so the other ferry companies have to match them and it is us that benefits.
Mind, I am thinking of giving Speedferries a go this year as our French teacher has used them 19 times since they started up to return home for hols. He has never been sick. He has never been delayed. He has never been cancelled and he never pays more than £38 return. I think 19 trips is a pretty good recommendation so I am gonna try them. A quicker crossing to a port that is 40 miles further south cant be bad.

Just checked Speedferries, best price I can see is £88.00 for Motorhome and two. Special offer at the mo seems to be for a car and that's £25.00 ew

Its like Norfolk Line DicknLyn. The offers come and go at different times so you need to subscribe and keep your eyes on the websites.

Seafrance have daytime crossings for campervans for next May/June at £60 return. I agree that it's SpeedFerries we have to thank for the low-price war. Do their prices now include the fuel supplement, or is this still charged on top at the port?

Try a quote with the Caravan Club including either an ACSI card or Camping Cheques - I've just got a quote for ferry for car and caravan, two people, and seven Camping Cheques - when I take off the cost of the Camping Cheques (at £10.30 each, new price) the ferry works out at a little over £105!!  This is Dover to Calais each way, and convenient times for us.  We plan to travel the weekend before the May Bank Holiday and come back the week after - I know these aren't peak times but I think this is a good price.

Yes but the maximum length of the unit (ie car and trailer combined) cannot exceed 7metres, and they're very strict on the length.
