We're with CIS, with Europe-wide breakdown cover for £60pa. Just had windscreen go, on the A7 south of Lyon; between them and Autoglass (usual supplier, number on emergency leaflet) they had it fixed within 24hours on same terms as UK. Extended Europe comprehensive is £15pa for 365-day cover (max trip 90 days).

It feels as if they're trying to fulfil the spirit of the EU legislation:

"The EU Motor Insurance Directive 2009/103/EC is intended to help EU residents involved in a road accident in another EU country.

"Under the Directive, subscribers to compulsory motor insurance policies in all EU countries are covered for motoring throughout the EU."     Link to EU website .... though as minicamper2001 says, it's 3rd party cover so far, unless your insurer says otherwise.

"EU residents looking to take out motor insurance are strongly advised to compare offers from different insurers in order to find the best deal in terms of premiums and conditions. Their best aid in comparing deals is the Internet – insurers providing services in EU countries are usually listed on national supervisors’ websites."

I have used this company http://www.vehicle-rescue.com/ for the past 3 years. Never had to call them out so cant comment on the service they give but they are underwritten by AXA Insurance. The levels of cover are comparable with all the big guns and they are very cheap.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
