We are thinking of renting a mobil home in the Cote d'Azur or Provence area.We don't know the area at all and have to go in August. Can anyone recommend any sites that are suitable for teenagers but not too noisy at night.Has anyone been to Green Park or Esterel Camping, as they sound o.k..Are you able to move around the area at all in August, or is it just too busy. All advice most welcome.

  which is in Frejus,midway between Cannes and St Tropez.excellent for teenagers as it has a nightclub which is soundproofed !!! and well away from the mobiles,have a look at the site and see what you think.

I thoroughly recommend Les Tournels in Ramatuelle.  We stayed there 2 years running when our 3 were 11, 13 and 15..  However, it is a very French site which might inhibit teenagers who don`t speak any French. It has family entertainment early evening then a prohibition on noise later. However, it has a beech bar/nightclub attached which caters for those old enough (or young enough depending on your point of view) to want to party till the early hours. The part of the site right next this remains noisier than ideal.  It has a super pool complex, and direct, although quite a walk, access to the beech.

We looked around Esterel and agreed we might stay there one year.  The wild boar come to the edge of the site to eat which is a bonus if your kids like animals. The pool looked good and they appeared to have evening entertainment and  more English speaking clients than Les Tournels.

The whole area is very busy in August, if you want to drive along the coast between St Maxim and St Tropez, do it early morning or expect to sit in traffic jams.  However, whilst in such jams the scenery is interesting, at least as far as teenage boys are concerned lol.

ive been going to the cote d'azur for the last 5 years on holidays.

ive also worked as a courier on La Baume campsite for the last 3 years, and plan to return this summer. Have stayed on Esterel, Douce Quietude and La Baume. All really good. La Baume defnitely the best for teenagers. Though the other two great too.

The area is great - love St Raphael/Frejus and also lived in Nice for a year, and worked in Menton(up at the italian border).

La Baume is very large and lively - but most of the pitches are away from the noise of the bars/disco/entertainment.  The other to sites were smaller , but also had good entertainment at nights. I was on hols on Esterel and Douce as a 17/18 year old and had a great time. Personally, i prefer La Baume though. My family still go every year (and even my 18yr old brother still goes).

The coast road from St Maxim to St Tropez is certainly an experience for young and old but as CaravanSkier says it can be busy not only in August but from June to Septenber!!! I well remember my first visit it Port Grimaud in 1992. We decided to visit the supermarket at Grimaud which is a bit inland. On the way back I nearly ended up in a ditch!! Coming towards me was a moped with boyfriend and girlfriend. Girlfriend was in front and was starkers to the waist! One of my fondest and comical memories of the South of France!

Thanks for the information. I think my 16 year old son will certainly enjoy the views, but I don't like the idea of having to sit in traffic jams for along time. Just wish we could go to France in June or July, roll on retirement.
