I don't think we've actually bought from this particular company (just the first of its kind i found just now), but we've got loads of this kind of clothing. Our kids are well used to wearing it when near a pool or on the beach, and it saves loads of trouble with sun cream. They are both gingers, and have never had bad sunburn.
The Aussies seem to know what they're talking about with prevention of skin cancer.
Trekkin.

Rash Vests are basically lycra Tee Shirts that are normally worn by Surfers underneath their WetSuits, when my kids go bodyboarding they also wear children short length wetsuits, as this protects them from any shingle when they come to a halt.
My apologies folks for upsetting the group in saying that the French aren't too clean.
Quote from the leading French journal Le Point magazine Nov 2005
Among the statistics contained in “24 Hours in France – An Unusual Portrait of France and the French” is the fact that only one in 10 of the population regularly uses soap, while almost one in 25 admit that they never shower or bath, and one in 33 say they never brush their teeth.
No wonder, perhaps, that nine out of 10 French women and half of all French men apply perfume and cosmetics every day, spending €17·7million (£12·4million) between them. The French do spend long periods in the bathroom: between 48 and 56 minutes each day, according to the figures. Yet much of this is apparently devoted to pursuits other than cleanliness. While in there, one third say they read and one quarter that they daydream. A further 14 per cent make telephone calls, eight per cent sing, six per cent smoke – and one in 100 eats.
They don't sound too clean to me !!
The last French campsite I went too have the wonderful 'French' style ladies loo. Half door and two 'footprints' to stand there !!! Ugh
I find the Enlish far sweeter smelling !!
Maybe an Essex thing...........

I have to confess that in 30 years of visiting (and, briefly, living in) France I have never got the hang of the loo "a la turque", as they are called. And I've seen some (usually at the side of the motorway) that indicate that others have even worse probs with them! At least I just get constipated!! LOL!
But whenever I get back to the UK and stop at a public loo with bits of loo paper all over the floor, wee on the seat, hand dryers burning fossil fuels like there was no tomorrow and the stench of "air fresheners" that really just anaethsetise your nose (really!)....
I begin to realise I didn't really want to sit down anyway!
Swings and roundabouts if you ask me! At least you can hose the "a la turque" ones down easily.
Just to let you all know they have kids rash vests and UV protective clothing in Asda for about a tenner. They seemed to go up to age 9-10. Just the job for all those French swimming pools!

Have you been in the premiere class le turc loos ? When you've finished pull the chain and a hand comes out of the hole and wipes your bum for you!!!!!
You know speedo's, do you mean that they have to be the tight brief type swimming trunks. My husband has seen a pair of Speedo swimming shorts and thinks he can get away with these because they have the word speedo across the side, but I think he's wrong, anyone know
Thanks

They can be the speedo-style briefs or shorts, either will do. They sell them in most French supermarkets. The idea is they're hardly the sort of thing you'd wear as clothes so they're not going to bring muck into the pool.
