Hi everyone,

       Has anyone been to this camp site in france? We've booked for aug this year and are planning to drive down from Roscoff. We arrive in Roscoff at about 3pm and are planning to drive until about 10pm so any suggestions of an overnight stop location would be greatly welcomed. Also as this is our first ever camping trip abroad any tips would be great.

Ace site with plenty of info!!

We went there a few years ago (before it became a Haven site) and enjoyed the experience very much. It wouldn't have been our first choice of site, but we still had a couple of teenagers in the family, so needed somewhere that kept them from moaning. Facilities were goodish, excellent pools, easy access to the lake and beach, reasonable shop, restaurant OK, but everything clean and well-maintained. Arcachon and the Dune de Pyla are both near for trips out and we also had a day out in Bordeaux and a trip to St Emilion.

I'm not sure how the site may have changed in the last few years, but if you want something with plenty to do on site, as well as a few excursions, this should do fine!

As for overnight stops, we travelled from Calais and just stopped when we had had enough; we had a couple of stops at Municipal sites, as far as I remember, north of Paris, then just outside Perigeux.
