Stayed on this site 3 years ago on way back to Calais. We intended to stay for 4 nights but left after 3. Nothing to much wrong with the site but the area is a bit void of things to do especially with young children. There is things for kids on site. A great indoor pool and games area. A lot of trees so you would need to pitch carefully for the sun. In peak weeks however I think you would be allocated a pitch. As for family entertainment I can't remember any but we did go in June. Overall I don't think it's a site or area for a full 2 weeks.
Also stayed on this site 3 years ago, end of July for 9 days on the way back from Germany. As Harry said, the pool and games area is good. There was a kids club and there was some form of entertainment daily. From specially cooked local meals to cheese/wine tasting. I think there was karaoke 1 night and a couple of duo's on others. All in all it was a pleasant site. Off site there is plenty to do and see but maybe not that much suitable for the kids. Good Luck.

We stayed here a few years ago - it was very pleasant but the weather was terrible! First of all we were rained out of Germany after a few days of 30 degree plus heat and decided to stop at this site. We were allocated a shady pitch that hardly saw the sun (when there was some to be found!) and unfortunately the bad weather followed us! The proprietors were very pleasant, the facilities pretty clean considering the mud! The site is used heavily by the British and the surrounding area is interesting but the pool was a disappointment as chemicals were used heavily and we all found it a bit overpowering which is a pity.
We are going here on 30th July for 5 nights. I am really looking forward to it i read about it in one of the caravan mags can't remember which one but I will dig it out and let you know. The jounalist ( I think it was Michael le Caplain) raved about it. We are just a couple no kids involved ( our 17 year old is doing her own thing) so we want peace and quiet and somewhere to cycle which I think this site will fill our critera. I think it depends on the age of your children if they are very young the quieter sites are better just simple entainment, face painting, a pool, fishing etc and they are happy and exausted by bed time from playing with their new friends all day. Teenagers are a different story we took our then 16 year old daughter to france for 3 weeks last year and she was a nightmare! admittedly she is an only child and at the time found it difficult to make friends on site so by mutual agreement she is NOT soming with us this time!
We are going to La Forge on our way to 7 days in Switzerland it is our 25th wedding anniversary so we are really spoiling ourselves this time!
Funny you should post your question about La Forge at thsi time as we are currently looking to go back for a couple of weeks during the second week of July (we were there for a fortnight last year and loved it). Our twin girls were 18 last year and our son 12. They all loved it and all want to go back.
There was entertainment for us all during the entire holiday and the two young Dutch girls running the kids entertainment were simply terrific.
Highlight was the trailer ride to the nearby farm and BBQ - a great day/night.
A goo day out for younger children, not too far away really, is the theme park Nigloland. We founf it very kitch but great fun and younger kids would just love it.
the owners are an English woman and her Dutch husband (she is the chef and the food is marvellous) Last year was their first year in ownership although I am sure they worked there previously.
If you are intersted, as previous customers, we have been offerred a discount if we introduce a second family. Drop me a pm if you are intersted.

I stayed there last summer for 5 nights, it is a nice site with friendly owners, cant complain about the site at all.
The sourounding area though struck me as very poor and run down, Joinville is not very attractive and seemed to be inhabited by drunks!
Most other place I have been to in France have had lovely villages with markets etc but this area was definitely lacking in that respect it has I feal fallen on hard times.
There is a good little theme park about an hour away called Nigloland and a few cycle routes from the campsite which we enjoyed.
Well we are heading back to La Forge for third year running. This time only for seven nights sandwiched in between 3 nights in Edam, 3 in Cologne and 3 in Luxembourg.
Difference this year is our twin daughters are working at La Forge waitressing and looking after the bar.
If you are heading there this summer, look out for the smiling blonde twins and tip heavily! (only if they deserve it of course)
