here in the Loire, and on one day last week we had a temperature of 27.4 degrees! We were stripped to the waist, re-slating our roof, the builder & I.

Hello Floydfan,

Would that be a thermometer on roof placed in full sun?

We have placed our electronic thermometer in a cool shade away from the sun, so that it gives us a true reading.

Hi Cap Nemo,

no, like Stu & Jo over at La Touche, we have our electronic thermometer placed in the shade. Just to let you know, it's overcast right now, though fairly warm. It's reading 14.4 degrees C.

LOL! Cheers Garry. It was a really special evening! To be honest, the star of the show was a Canadian guest we had in one of the gites. SHE was a star!

Glad to hear Bob & Carole enjoyed it here, they certainly seemed to be relaxed. Hope they have a great summer with you, and we'll keep a pitch warm for their return leg in September if they want it!

Have a great season mate! See you soon!

We've just returned from a week in the Loire Valley. There are plenty of sites open with availability at the moment. We just meandered from chateau to chateau and looked about for the nearest site at the end of each day. There are camping signs everywhere and we didn't need to spend much time to find a site.
The weather was coolish, partly cloudy and with a couple of hours rain on one day. We didn't need the Trumer at night though as it wasn't really cold enough.
I wish that we'd been able to stay longer as there was a lot more that I would have liked to have seen and done. For instance, meeting Stu.
