Not all sites have fridge hire so best to check that yours does if its a priority. Hire normally costs between 3 and 5 euros per night and consists of either a fridge delivered to your pitch or a fridge type locker in a communal area.

I have to say I`ve never ever encountered this in any campsite I have ever been to in France, not in the twenty years I`ve been using french sites. So my advice is to check with your campsite directly.

Lots of sites over here have this facility. L'Etang de la Breche in Saumur is one. It costs €5/night, and they deliver the fridge to your pitch. there are others, it's not unheard of but they have limited supplies.

I always hire one at my site. 4 euros per night approx. Usually phone in advance to say I need it, which reminds me I must phone tomorrow as I'm going there on Friday.

Hi Janie

We went to France in 2004 and took a new electric cooler box with us. It was working when we left but packed up within 2-3 days of getting there. So we went to the office and asked about hiring a fridge. There was no problem and it was delivered to our tent later that day. It's so much better than a coolbox - there was even some room for food after the beer had been put in! :o)

Hi Karin, in the photo in my gallery images Gemma (yellow) is 9 and Maisie is 9 weeks. Sadly Gemma went to the bridge last October, one month short of her twelfth birthday. She was such a darling, so wise and calm. A few weeks later I got Annie from Labrador Rescue North West, who are based in Chorley. She was 6 weeks when I got her and is now 10 months. You can see photos of Maisie and her in My Webshots page, which is listed in my profile. She is a typical Lab pup, bounce, bounce, bounce!!! Maisie has calmed down a lot and is now Mrs Sensible.

Do you have any photos of yours?

Absolutely brilliant- would never camp in France again without hiring one. They deliver it to your pitch , plug it in and away you go. It gives you so much more room in the car when you dont have to take your own and anyway our fridge couldnt cope with the French heat anyway.

book when you book your pitch.
