Has anyone been to the Sanguinet area?  I'd be interested in any comments, tps on what to do etc.

Thanks

Went to Camping la Rive about 5 years ago - Lake was fantastic - crystal clear and 28C - safe for the kids because even if you walked out 200m you were only in 1m of water.

Climbing the Pyla dune is a bit of fun and teh beach at Biscarosse was good.

Thanks TethersEnd- there are so few comments on this area we were beginning to think we'd made a mistake.  But it sounds just what we want.  Did you go in the sea at all?

Great beach with a few cross currents at Biscarosse - very popular with the surfers. We were returning, with kids, to a beach we used before we were married - it is still great but the kids liked the lake and we were grateful that it was so safe. A dutch bloke arrived at La Rive mid week having left one of the coastal sites in Biscarosse because of the drug abuse on site- he was from Amsterdam so I guess he was no stranger to it and knew what he was talking about but La Rive was a family friendly site. Arcachon is worth exploring.

Thanks TethersEnd- our kids love bodyboarding so we'll probably brave the sea at some point, but the lake sounds better for parent peace of mind!
