Does this ferry offer a service whereby freezer ice packs can be frozen ready for leaving the ship in Spain, or alternatively if the onboard shop sells bags of ice?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Hi Adam7392, I've just returned from Spain on the Portsmouth/Bilbao ferry and I dont remember seeing ice available in the shop, its your normal duty-free type stuff. You can ask at reception re freezing ice packs but I'd give them a ring in advance. Customer service number is 08705 980 333. The food on board is okay but pretty expensive for what it is and the electric sockets in the cabins are the continental 2-pin type.
We had a fantastic trip though and I'd recommend taking binoculars as the Bay of Biscay is one of the worlds top areas for whales and dolphins, you'll see loads especially on the return trip. The Biscay Dolphin Research Program use the ferry as a research ship and have a wildlife officer on board on most crossings. Do a google search for BDRP and you'll see what I mean.
Anyway have a great trip and Bon Voyage or Bueno Viaje
If they don't offer, and I suspect they don't, just stop at the first service station you see when you leave the ferry..........and they will have an ice cabnet!
