North Germany is flat. It is very bike-freindly. In some towns there are more bikes than cars, and you can even find multi-storey bike parks! The area round Münster is great for bike-riding and walking. Bremen has a superb hands-on science museum, the Luneburg Heath around Hanover is like the New Forest but bigger. The people are used to Brits because of the forces stationed there. There is a great theme park called Movie World at Bottrop http://www.moviepark.de/moviepark/home/index_de.cfm
