We have used the fast ferry from Poole to St Malo a couple of times
The last time to St Malo was memorable
We booked on "Club Class" as we needed a good seat because of my wife's Parkinsons.
We entered the refined atmosphere of "Club Class" and were shown to our seats and offered refreshments and the atmosphere was serene.
Then a group arrived and among them was an extrovert life and soul of the party lady in her middle years whose every utterance was greeted with loud alcohol fuelled guffaws.
This culminated in an anecdote about emerging from a large cake in earlier years and being unable to to get her tassles going in opposite directions.
This disrupted the serene atmosphere to the extent that people who had paid for "Club Class" were asking the way to steerage and some were even prepared to take a turn on the oars for some peace.
It remains the most hilarious crossing I can ever remember and becomes more amusing as distance dulls the memory
