Hi, I am looking to take the caravan on the Rosyth to Zebrugge ferry next summer and am looking for advice.

Was on the ferry website and got a quote of just over £1000 for car, caravan, me , wife and 2 kids with 4 berth cabin....do you think this is excessive?

Are there any towing laws rules in holland different from here that i need to observe?

Does anyone know good sites with full facilities pool ets (Euro camp) within 2 hour drive of Zebrugge

How much is the cost of one of these Euro camp sites?

Thanks, George

If I was you I would take the Hull ferry at least half the price of Rosyth (this summer at weekends caravans go free), other point if you are touring France or Belgium fine but if you are only staying at one place you will get a two week mobile home holiday for the price you have to pay just to get to Zeebrugge with superfast.

Ferrie price is not to steep considering it's for 4 people, a car and a tow and a cabin. There are cheaper ferries, if you would like to sleep in a cabin as small as a "coffin"...

Zeebrugge is in Belgium but I think they have the same roadlaws as we do: do not exceed 80 KM/H on motorways when towing. Do not exceed alowable weight limits of the caravan; police have regular checkups and they will let you leave your excess bagage at the side of the road if you're too heavy.
Have spare bulbs, a reflection jacket and screen your headlights.

As for the Euro Camps, depending on where you go and what "luxuries" you want on the pitch it can range from € 25 upwards per night per pitch.Check www.eurocamping.nl for further reference.

PS: Glad to see I'm not the only one already planning for the summer of 2007...
Have fun!

Rob

That`s a fantastic price, I think I`ll have to have a look at joining if they do such good prices. I wonder if the camping and caravan club do as good offers as we have a folding camper.

I don't know about the Camping and caravan club at all, but the C&C have always been good---the secret of a good price is to get in early, - --- P&O are also reasonable, I have booked with them direct and if you are prepared to pay the full price on booking, you can save quite a bit-------I think the new fares for 2007 will be released around October/Novemeber .....if you know when you want to travel then that's the time to book
