as any one stopped at this campsite  camping au bocage du lac .30 mins from the port of st malo. what is there to see and do in this area. camp looks very nice on website but cannot find any reviews. we have never camped abroad before so thought this would be ideal to get us used to driving on the other side of the water.

Sorry, this isn't a part of France I have been camping, hope someone comes along soon to help you.

Driving in France is not too scary when you get going, especially if you allow sufficient time for your journeys, so that you are not stressed and in a rush, which is when you may make a mistake.

Relax and enjoy your trip.

I don't know the site, we have often stayed at Les Hallerais at Dinan, usually for 2 or 3 nights on our way home. There is plenty to do and see around St Malo including the old town of St Malo, Dinan, Dinard, Concale & Mont St Michel. If you visit Mont St Michel stay and watch the sun go down from there but unfortunately at this time of the year it tends to be very busy.

Can't help except that the Caravan Club review seems to think it is a good site and family orientated.  Most camping qualite sites( This one has the logo in its web page) will be good as they have to meet a certain standard

Natrose, I do not know the site, but we live in Jersey and frequently visit the St. Malo area. St. Malo itself is a beautiful walled town, but certainly busy at weekends, Dinan is also very much worth a visit, many timbered buildings, places to eat, and you should visit the 'port' on the river below the town. If you are near to St. Malo then you are certainly within easy striking/driving distance of Mont St. Michel, (an absolute must, but expect to be busy) Cancale for a lazy seafood lunch (Fruits de Mer if you have time and enjoy shellfish) Major town of Rennes (plenty of shopping) not too far away, and also Dinard for the beach, although can be quite busy. Plenty of shops/supplies are also found at St. Servan which borders, and is an alternative to, St. Malo. There is a large aquarium on the outskirts of St. Malo for the children. Taking a drive west from St. Malo into the north Brittany coast will also find plenty of small ports town. All in all a nice area to visit. Hope you enjoy it.

There are plenty of sites in the area that have a pool and bar. To name but four are Le Pet't Bois at St Jouen, Les Hallerais at Taden near Dinan, La Vieux Chenes and Chateau des Ormes at Dol de Bretagne.
