We're off to the loire for 9 nights from next Tues and are looking forward to getting the trailer tent out again for the trip. Ive identified a couple of interesting sites on the Web (Camping la Grenouille and Chant D'Oiseau) which are both contenders. We usually like to move about twice during the trip, will be driving from Calais direct to the area and would consider wending our way back via somewhere different to complete the trip. We like to be on the countryside but near enough to a village to get bread, milk and vin- perhaps visit a local bar/restaurant etc. We like cycling and chateaux/castles.
Any good/recommended site ideas to make the best of our trip. It's only us 2 and no pets going and the trailer tent is "a ripper"- according to an Ozzie mate!

we came back from 'le chant' about 3 weeks ago, it is very lovely. we called in for a visit last year too, just after stu and syb took over. i'm sure you will enjoy it if you go there.
have you spoken to stu re: availabilty? i know they were fully booked for most of the summer - might be worth just checking
We have been to La Grenouille you mention, it is a lovely site in a really nice part of the Loire, the facilities are excellent, only drawback we noticed was some of the pitches are near the main road and traffic can be heard from that part of the site. You are near Chambord which is a must if in the area too.

We have just come back from Le Chant D'Oiseau after spending a week there with great people and lovely campsite owners like Stu and Syb and there family.
It is a great area and plenty to see and do,so I hope you enjoy your holiday like we did.
