If your cylinders are calor gas ones then the answer is no, not sure if the have foriegn bottles with propane, may be a mix of propane and butane, if you take two cylinders of say 6kg each you should have more than enough for your holidays.   kiev

As kiev says, no Calor bottles available abroad. However 1 x 4.5kg bottle will be more than enough for 1 holiday.

THe only bottles you can exchange in Europe as well as uk are Campingaz-butane-summer use only-the largest 907 bottle is small-so only suitable for tent camping or campervan uneconomical for a large caravan--every country has its own make of gas bottles with regulators that are not interchangable----if you are going for a long period it would be better to get local bottles as the refills are far cheaper than Campingaz refills--you only need propane if you are camping in winter--

Hi there,

Hubby is going camping in Norway soon, he will want to take 2 small bottles of propane gas, he'll be going by Stenaline, it seems he has to get written permission beforehand to take the gas, see here.

Is this what you all have to do when you take gas abroad? Is it a straightforward procedure?

                          Any advice would be much appreciated
