Im looking at going to France next summer for 2 weeks camping with my 3 kids. This year was my first taste of camping, went from the Halfords 4 man starter tent to the Argos 12 man tent, coz the Halfords one fell apart! Do like my room!

My plan is to go over on the Ferry to Calais, goto Euro Disney, then end up some where! Is that the best way to go or should i go into Britanny on the Ferry then work my way back towards Paris then on to Calais and back home.I know i have plenty of time to arrange next summers trip, but i do like to plan ahead and make sure i know what i am doing!

So we have a large tent which we would like to use, is there any problems with large tents in France?

I would also like to goto Euro Disney for the day, are there any camp sites close by?

What kind of problems could we have? Are there any sites that you could recomend or even sites where i could book?

Many thanks for any help

Shaun

Pitch size in France tends to be quite generous. You might have to explain that your tent is large and you may have to be prepared to pay for a caravan pitch if the site differentiates between tents and caravans.

What you suggest about taking a long crossing to France and a shorter one back so you do a big circle is sensible from the point of view of maximising the use of your time but you will need to check the value of this arrangements as most offers are on return fares on the same route. Perhaps if you look at the Caen or Dieppe routes as they might be a happy medium.

As far as campsites are concerned you need to decide the general area and then start searching. This site has lots of reviews as do many other websites, a Google will bring up some info. Disneyland Paris is very popular on this forum so you should get lots of suggestions.

Ferry not to calais will be pricey. Dover calais is alot cheaper

It can be cheaper and quicker to drive from Calais.

There are sites near Euro Disney not sure of them though.
